## TL;DR

FIXME: add disk encryption considerations.

On systems with GNU userland:

1. Pass files with [`shred`][gnu shred].

On Mac OS X:

1. Enable trim enforcement if it is using a SSD:

   ```sh
   sudo trimforce enable
   ```
